Find out morePeople experiencing homelessness, especially people of color, face a far greater risk of being targeted, profiled, fined, arrested, harassed, violated, and incarcerated for minor offenses than other Americans. Marginalization is predominant in communities of color that appear across the spectrum of the criminal system. People experiencing homelessness are regularly criminalized for life-sustaining activities such as sleeping in public spaces, in the absence of housing or shelter, making it even harder for them to exit homelessness. Join us as we discuss how to protect and serve people experiencing homelessness and constructive alternatives to harmful criminalization.
