Homelessness & the UN Women's Rights Treaty

Testimony in Support of CEDAW Ratification

On November 18, the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on Human Rights and the Law held a hearing to determine whether to recommend ratification of an international bill of rights for women, the United Nations' Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

The National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty  submitted this statement to the subcommittee in favor of the ratification of the convention, with particular attention paid to the link between gender-based violence and discrimination, and homelessness.
