NLCHP Commends Cook County Sheriff Dart

The National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty commends Cook County Sheriff Thomas Dart for not enforcing eviction orders against renters of foreclosed property - when they had no notice of the foreclosure, no time and no resources to stave off homelessness.

NLCHP Launches Street Lawyer WIKI Site
This month, the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty (NLCHP), along with 20 other national and local partners, is proud to officially launch its new WIKI, entitled Street Lawyer: Legal Tools for Economic Justice, an online resource tool that will support the efforts of advocates, attorneys, policy makers and homeless people working to end and prevent homelessness.

Court Victory in Orlando Food-Sharing Case
On September 26, 2008 a federal district court judge found that an Orlando law restricting sharing food in public parks violated the rights of two groups who share food with homeless individuals.
